Summer Events Benefit Ronald McDonald Houses

Summer 2008—In keeping with the firm’s commitment to a yearlong “Year of Service” campaign benefiting Chicagoland and Indiana children’s charities, many employees, family and friends of David A. Noyes & Company participated in several events this past summer. Here is a quick roundup of a couple of events that benefited two Ronald McDonald House charities in the Chicago area.

June 22, 2008—It was a beautiful day at the ballgame as the hometown 2007 Frontier Baseball League Champions, the Windy City Thunderbolts, took on the Rockford River Hawks in Crestwood, Illinois. A sizeable group from David A. Noyes & Company attended the ball game in a charity event to raise funds for the new Ronald McDonald House near Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn.

August 16, 2008—Nothing says summer like a barbeque, and a group from the firm were proud to prepare and cook meals for a special outing that benefited the Ronald McDonald House near Loyola University Medical Center.

After a brief tour of the warm and inviting facility, as well as a presentation on the history of Ronald McDonald Houses, John and Camille Bouckaert prepared Italian beef sandwiches, Italian sausage, hot dogs, macaroni & cheese, macaroni salad, potato salad, green peppers, fruit, assorted desserts, and drinks. These were served to the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, nearly 50 people in all.

“It was such a pleasure to spend the day serving these brave families,” says John Bouckaert, President. “Ronald McDonald House charities really make a difference in people’s lives when they need it the most. I’m so happy that we have made this cause a significant part of our 100th anniversary campaign.”

The program is open to individuals, schools and companies that are willing to work together to collect pop tabs to benefit these Ronald McDonald House, which, in turn, lends support and housing to families of ill children. Once collected, pop can tabs are then recycled by local recycling partner, United Scrap Metal. The charity receives the market value of the recycled metal - plus a charitable match from United Scrap Metal. Last year more than $40,000 was raised from this program.

Thirteen pounds of pop tabs were collected by friends and family of David A. Noyes & Company to benefits the program. We thank everyone who participated in this program for the support.
